Due to the significant amount of Covid currently circulating in the Canberra community, we have decided to cancel our Term 2 event.
We hope to be able to reschedule to 2022 and thank Taqwa School
for their ongoing support of LEA.
From Modular to Custom Design:
Taqwa School’s Journey of Establishing a New School Site
From its humble beginnings in 2015 – with only 34 students in shared community facilities in Spence, ACT – Taqwa School successfully obtained land in Canberra’s northside suburb of Moncrieff in 2017 and started to implement its Masterplan for the establishment of purpose built facilities that would expand its offering as the first Islamic faith-based school for Muslim families in Canberra’s north.
Attendees will hear from the school and its project team on the process and challenges involved with establishing a school campus on a greenfield site, along with differing experiences of the school in the design and construction of both modular and fixed building typologies.
Following a light breakfast and the school’s presentation, attendees will participate in a site tour of the new grounds and buildings.
