BRINDABELLA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Junior School Wing | Sports & Performing Arts Complex

Brindabella Christian College is an independent non-denominational Christian co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day school. The school was formerly known as O’Connor Christian School and opened in Lyneham in 1980.

The Junior School Wing caters for Kindergarten through to Year 4 students; as an award-winning complex, this school delivers flexible co-operative learning, team-teaching and expansive interactive learning activities in spaces for up to 450 children. It includes state-of-the-arts acoustics, 220 solar panels and battery storage at 100% energy neutral.  Energy usage is displayed on TV panels for ongoing student education and environmental responsibility.

The Sports & Performing Arts Complex proudly includes world leading flooring - FIBA-1, the first of its kind in Australia, boasting a substrate that through design is secured to the concrete slab thereby reducing shock related injuries. The complex seats 1200 at ground level, and a further 600 in retractable seating at mezzanine level making an impressive 1800 viewing audience when at capacity.  When not used for viewing the retractable mezzanine seating morphs into operable walled classrooms and the performing arts stage morphs into fully sealed drama learning environments. The complex further fully opens up to central outdoor playing areas via large glass fire doors.
