What makes a transformative maker-based learning environment?

Maker spaces aren’t just about cool tools and technologies and the stuff we make. They are places where people can come together to create rather than consume through play, exploration and participation. They are places where connections between home, school, and community are enabled and encouraged, and educators and students share skills and knowledge.

In collaboration with QUT School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering,  Steelcase Learning and ARKI Education, this event will include:

  • A tour of the QUT Faculty of Engineering J Block Workshop with opportunity for Q&A
  • Steelcase Learning will present their insights on learning environments for creativity: 'ThinkMakeShare’
  • A facilitated panel discussing with tertiary and secondary students and educators how well-designed maker spaces can transform learning.

The event will conclude with Q&A, networking and refreshments.
