Learning Environments Australasia and the Department of Education Tasmania invite you to a free site visit to start a journey of exploring contemporary learning environments in the State.

Join us to find out how South Hobart Primary School is transforming education models.

Existing facilities have been redeveloped and new indoor and outdoor learning areas created to respond to the school’s desire for more versatile spaces, an increasing enrolment and a better representation of their identity.

New and redeveloped indoor learning areas are left unencumbered for students and teachers to create their own changing environments. Large and small group areas are interlinked with visual connection balanced against the requirement for separate group activities when required.

New outdoor spaces - learning, playing and gathering - are defined by the arc of the new building and created between existing buildings.

The new buildings and outdoor spaces are designed to reflect the specific aspirations and identity of this school community, as articulated by students, staff and families.
