NZ Chapter - Panel Talk and Tour: Engaging Parents in the Journey of Educational Change

  • 14 September 2016
  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM (NZST)
  • Bayfield Primary School

Parents are important stakeholders in the process when schools are moving towards collaborative teaching and utilising flexible spaces for the first time. This new way of learning and teaching can be scary for parents, as often they are not part of the journey. Here is a chance to hear from schools that are at different points in that journey with their communities. A small panel will explain how they have, or are considering how they will, engage with parents. The panel will share examples of gathering community voice and communicating with their parents and whanau in unique ways as they move towards new ways of learning and teaching in their schools. The panel is made up of primary and secondary school leaders. Following this panel talk there will be a tour of the stunning spaces of Bayfield School.

Panel at 5:30pm

Tour at 6:00pm

Join us for some refreshments.
