Join us for this journey into the reimagining of teaching and learning as the initial brief for this project was to re-invent the learning landscape at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Kensington, creating a 21st century learning community.

The process began with a deep and considered understanding of the educational vision for the College – and more broadly, the holistic value of the project to the entire OLSH community.

Through a 3 year step-by-step process, the CEO Sydney and JDH Architects worked closely with the College to understand the key learning challenges faced by the school.  At the same time, the subjective and spiritual objectives of project were also taken into account.

This long envisioning and pre-engagement phase of the process led the team to think differently and to challenge conventions in educational facility design.  Student and teacher opinions were considered with equal merit, becoming the catalyst for ideas that ultimately led to a highly innovative design outcome.

The completed building provides the College with a new multi-purpose hall, TAS and creative and inspiring Year 7 learning common areas that reflect the progressive pedagogy and learning ambitions of the College.

You will hear from the CEO Sydney, the College and the architects reflecting on the journey of reinvention.

After a guided walk around we will have the opportunity over light refreshments to discuss our observations.
