Description

Video Duration: 56 minutes Our NSW Chapter costed a conversation with Matthew Esterman, Director of Innovation and Partnerships at Our Lady of Mercy College (OLMC) Parramatta, and Donna McLean, Program Director VETiS at AlphaCrucis University College. Together they presented an overview of the key features of the Mercy Multicredential so that other schools might consider this as a way to shift the dial in building student capabilities. The Mercy Multicredential is a way to recognise the capabilities and competences of our students, by having them curate a portfolio of evidence towards valid, recognised credentials. These credentials aren't just recognised by the College community, but by potential employers and high education institutions. We have designed a system that provides the flexibility for students to demonstrate the ways in which they are 'smart' and capable, whilst also providing a robust framework to ensure consistent quality. The partnership between OLMC Parramatta and AlphaCrucis University College has been key to building a relevant, meaningful and practical way forward for credentialling the learning experience. All students who fully engage with this program will gain their normal school credential, and additional credentials, thus gaining a Mercy Multicredential.
