Wurun Senior Campus Site Visit
We are so excited for our first site visit of 2023 to Wurun Senior Campus!
Wurun Senior Campus is a sustainable all-electric vertical campus designed for 650 students to serve the senior secondary program partnership between Collingwood College and Fitzroy High School. Folding around a prominent urban corner site, the building form steps up along its length and creates a series of connected outdoor terrace learning areas - each directly connected to indoor learning to facilitate a diverse pedagogical offering and promote health and wellbeing by providing access to abundant natural light, airflow, city views and passive recreation space.
This exemplar facility was the winner of the LEA VIC / TAS Chapter Category 2: New Educational Campus and Special Commendation Awards.
In the words of the judges, ‘[Wurun Senior Campus] sets a new benchmark for public secondary education facilities and a new model for vertical schools in tight urban sites that integrate outdoor learning and recreation spaces throughout.’
