When the SA Government’s STEM Works program was announced in August 2016 the government was keen to have several projects completed as soon as possible. Russell & Yelland Architects was working with Minuzzo Project Management on the Renown Park Children’s Centre, and so were asked to work together on the adjacent
Brompton Primary School STEM program.
The planning study was completed in September 2016, documentation completed in November and the construction completed in May 2017. This project was the adaptation of a BER resource centre, and the design philosophy was to provide a facility with robust wet and dry maker spaces, a presentation area, multiple wall surfaces and easy access to the well-established school gardens adjacent.
This LEA site visit will feature an inspection of the Brompton Primary School facilities, a presentation session from the Director of Infrastructure for the Department for Education, Ross Treadwell, and information about LEA’s exciting 2019 research project on the STEM Works program.
