What is a SELF ORGANISING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT?

“If my car could travel at the speed of light, would the headlights work?”
“What happens when we sleep?”

Throw a big question into a small group and see what sort of multi-disciplinary, collaborative learning emerges.

Sugata Mitra’s Self Organising Learning Environment (S.O.L.E.) is creating new opportunities and styles of learning. Does it work?

This forum will have Educators and students exposing the workings of their S.O.L.E. They will lead a discussion about setting up a S.O.L.E. and the learning outcomes they are seeing.

We will be workshopping the “Big Ideas” to see what happens. We will explore what spaces best facilitate this practice.

Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Exposure to a different learning methodology
  • Evidence-based workshop exploring opportunities of this practice
  • Engaging with what this means for learning space design
