Mernda Central P-12 College is part of the Victoria’s New Schools Public Private Partnership, which includes the delivery of 15 new governments schools located on 12 sites across a number of Victoria’s fastest growing metropolitan communities. The New Schools PPP includes a range of school types which enable a sense of community and belonging by promoting human connectedness.

The College adopts a learners and learning-centred approach to develop personal agency and empowerment amongst all users. Facilities display a clear emphasis on diversity and inclusivity, ensuring equitable access for all abilities through providing agile learning environments. The design of the indoor and outdoor environments and how they relate to each other provides opportunities for students to engage with the campus as a whole and to choose the types of spaces that best suit their activities and interests.

Mernda Central P-12 College has been designed to support the development of a strong school environment and to be a key part of the local community. An overarching design principle is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for children, staff, parents and the wider community. The College is designed to be a heart of the community through partnering with CERES, YMCA, local councils and organisations in providing opportunities that include a ‘Learn to Swim’ pool and additional community facilities.
