LAUNCH TO SUCCESS DECD STEM  STRATEGY

STEM Practices are key to changing and shifting pedagogy of teaching and learning of science, mathematics, and technologies through using an engineering design process.

Hear how new ways of thinking, a focus on STEM processes and strategies from Preschool to SACE are preparing students for an uncertain future.

Come and join Learning Environments Australasia as we host this exciting forum from the innovative team at DECD. Two of the 11 DECD projects will share their successes to date.

STEM Works

Learning environments and STEM learning spaces provide opportunities to have deep learning experiences, to become problem finders and solvers of complex problems, use critical and creative thinking and entrepreneurial skills to solve water, food and energy issues.

Year 7 and 8 STEM Collaborative Inquiry Project

Five networks of schools have designed innovative STEM learning. Collaboratively Year 7 and 8 teachers and students are trialling and evaluating the continuity of learning from primary to high school through integrating science, mathematics and technologies using engineering design processes and STEM practices. We will share some of the exciting triggers and milestones uncovered to date.
