This year's Victoria Chapter Educational Facility Planning Awards will be presented at the wonderful Treetops venue located at Melbourne Museum (Nicholson Street, Carlton) on Thursday October 27th getting underway with Drinks and canapes from 5:30pm, and the presentations commencing at 6pm.

In it's twelfth year, the Awards program aims to raise the standard of educational planning and design, with a focus on creating great places for students to learning. The Awards recognise and celebrate educational facilities that demonstrate effectiveness in planning, design and construction within Victoria and Tasmania.


The core mission of the Awards is to raise the awareness of architects, schools and other educational communities about the interplay between effective pedagogy and learning space design by identifying exemplary learning environments where architectural design successfully supports engaging and effective educational practices and activities.

Awards will be presented in the following seven Categories:

1.     New Entire Educational Facility
2.     New Individual Facility
3.     Renovation / Modernisation - Over $2m
4.     Renovation / Modernisation - Under $2m

5.     Education Initiative or a Design for an Innovative Program
6.     Landscaping/Outdoor Learning Area
7.     Living Experience


The winning projects will demonstrate comprehensive and effective planning, design and construction, as outlined in the Awards criteria.

Learning Environments Australasia members and friends are welcome. To comply with Museum entry requirements and to finalise catering, all attendees MUST register to gain entry.

The Awards event will be preceded by the Victoria Chapter Annual Reporting Meeting. This is open only to members from 4:30-5:15 pm.
