FLINDERS AT TONSLEY

The University’s vision for Flinders at Tonsley is now realised with a new state-of-the-art $120 million teaching and research facility. The six-storey, 16,000sqm flagship building is a focus for the University’s teaching of computer science, engineering and mathematics and related research and entrepreneurship. Designed by Hassell, Flinders at Tonsley centrally locates the University’s School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics, New Venture Institute, Flinders Partners, Medical Devise Research Institute, and Centre for Nanoscale Science and Technology alongside some of Adelaide’s businesses and industries, including South Australian-owned technology and communications company Hills Industries.

Flinders at Tonsley is the heart of South Australia’s new industrial future. It embodies world’s best practice in education, teaching and research. It is a place where innovation, collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit combine to create the products and processes of the 21st Century - and beyond.

With more than 150 staff and 2,000 students - and a 2,000 square metre pod heavy engineering equipment - this new precinct is a place where Flinders University students interact with business and where business interacts with Flinder’s researchers in areas such as engineering, medical devices and nanoscale technologies.
