1A Hamilton Street East North Strathfield, Sydney

When the heart of cities expand there is not aways the space for greenfield sites to grow a school that will meet the needs of the community.

The Catholic Education Office in Sydney faced this situation with growth in the North Strathfield area.

While already common in many places in the world, in Australia we are beginning to look at brownfield sites, disused urban infrastructure that can serve as a school.  This has been the case with Our Lady of the Assumption in North Strathfield, the 150th new school to open in the diocese, currently operating K-2.  This new school, designed by BVN is located in a former Telstra training college site at North Strathfield, near the railway station.

We are grateful to the school community for hosting our site visit this term.  The CEO and BVN project team will walk us through the development of the school, starting with the initial vision, the identification of a suitable site and making the school a reality.

Join us for this unique opportunity of discovery of this new school in an existing context.  Due to the nature of the campus, parking is not possible on site and there is limited parking in surrounding streets.  Best access is via the train with access from North Strathfield Station.

As usual, for any further information please contact at nsw@cefpi.org.au
