Northern Sydney Institute, 213 Pacific Highway, St Leonards, NSW.

The Dunbar Building was constructed in 1967 for UTS and has been revisited and reinvented by TAFE and Government Architects Office as Cammeraygal. It now accommodates the front office centre of excellence for Business, Community and Health services at a landmark address for the Northern Sydney Institute, TAFE. The rework of the existing building also incorporates the new College Green as a heart to the campus. The existing building was pulled apart and reassembled to develop new contemporary facilities for key administrative and learning space on multiple levels. The reinvention also features key green initiatives creating a truly new life for the facilities and the users.

As part of a bigger picture for north shore education Bradfield College has been relocated from North Sydney to portions of the TAFE campus.

The project involves the relocation of Bradfield Senior College to TAFE Northern Sydney Institute Campus. Bradfield College has an established role integrating TAFE NSW qualifications, industry training and the Higher School Certificate. The project includes of the refurbishment and fit out works at Blocks A, C & D as well as the removal of Block G to provide contemporary and responsive accommodation for the College.

The Department of Education and Communities (DEC) recently carried out a review of the current School Facilities Standards (SFS). A detailed technical review of the existing documents as well as a wide reaching stakeholder consultation identified a number of recommendations for how the documents and associated processes needed to be updated to ensure that the documents are able to provide facilities able to deliver education into the future. The Educational Facilities Standards and Guidelines EFSG are the new web based guidelines. This is a unique opportunity to gain an understanding of why and how the guidelines have changed as the team involved in the creation of the new guidelines walk you through the new system.

Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the visits and ESFG presentation.

Be quick as registration interest is high and we expect places to fill quickly for this last NSW Chapter event.
