Join us to explore the extensive restructuring and redevelopment of this historical school.

The Ministry of Education has undertaken a major redevelopment project at Takapuna Grammar School to address structural and water-ingress issues and to provide innovative learning environments in the main historic block.
The block was built in 1927 and extended in 1931 and 1965. It is a category A heritage building, listed under the Auckland Unitary plan.
Two wings have been completed and a third is near completion.
The event will start with presentations by Deputy Principal Brian Wynn – who has been involved in the project from the start, and Natasha Cockerell – from Respond Architects, the lead designers on the project.
The event will include a tour of the wing that is still under construction, to see the work in progress. To have access to the working site attendees must wear PPP gear - feel welcome to bring your own, otherwise it will be provided as attendees break into smaller groups. This will be a unique opportunity to be able to see the impressive works being put in place to make the building structurally sound.
We will then visit the 2 wings that have been completed to take in the quality of the final outcome.
Come and listen to the background to the project and see first-hand the impressive results.
