Learning Environments South Australia Chapter (LE SA) invites you to make submissions into the inaugural combined 2019 LE SA and NT Chapter Awards.
These Awards are open to all registered LE SA and NT members- planners, school principals,bursars, consultant architectural firms or construction management firms –whose educational facilities’ projects demonstrate effectiveness in planning, design and construction of educational facilities across the Australasia region.
The awards aim to raise the standard of educational planning and design, with a focus on educational outcomes, as it applies to all educational facilities across the Australasia region.
The core mission of the awards is to bridge the awareness of architects and school communities about the interplay between teaching and learning methodology and space by identifying examples of good educational spaces where innovative architectural ideas successfully support an educational philosophy.
The Award winners will be announced on 25th September, 2019 (details of event to be advised).
Category 1: New Construction / New Educational Facility. This category applies to construction of a new school or educational institution on a new site/campus. These buildings may be the first stage of the new facility.
Category 2: New Construction / New Individual Facility(ies) Over AU$8 Million. This category applies to a new building or new buildings in an existing school or campus.
Category 3: New Construction / New Individual Facility(ies) Under AU$8 Million. This category applies to a new building or new buildings in an existing school or campus.
Category 4: Renovation / Modernisation Over AU$5 Million. This category applies to renovated and modernised facilities – entrants need to demonstrate the changes that have occurred from old to new.
Category 5: Renovation / Modernisation Under AU$5 Million. This category applies to renovated and modernised facilities – entrants need to demonstrate the changes that have occurred from old to new.
Category 6: Buildings or renovation/modernisation under AU$2 Million: A learning environment that has been achieved within a budget.
Category 7: Landscaping/Outdoor Learning Area. Designed to showcase outdoor learning environments targeted to improving educational outcomes.
Category 8: An Innovative Education Initiative. Designed to showcase significant contributions to learning environments by schools, educators, students, designers, community organisations etc. Education Initiative must have been delivered to students for at least 6 months.
All entries must have been occupied for at least 6 months (that is: practical completion before 1st March, 2019)and construction completed within the last 3 years to qualify for entry.

REGISTRATION OPENS : 24th June, 2019
REGISTRATION CLOSES : 16th August, 2019
SUBMISSION PORTAL OPENS : 8th July, 2019
SUBMISSIONS PORTAL CLOSES : 4th September, 2019
AWARDS CEREMONY : 25th September, 2019 - venue to be advised
2. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT (Step 1)

A registration fee of $270 + GST per submission, will be charged.
Payment can be made by EFT or credit card
PAYMENT/WITHDRAWAL Must be received by COB 16th August, 2019.
Projects withdrawn between registration closing(16/8/19) and submission closing (4/9/19) will receive a 50% refund only. No refund will be available after the submission closing date.
3. SUBMISSION (Step 2)
