Learning Environments NSW invites you to make submissions for the 2016 Inaugural Learning Environments NSW Awards.
The aim of the Learning Environments NSW Awards is to enhance the profile of design and building development as it applies to all educational facilities across the State, with a core mission to increase awareness, through the learning environment planning process with key stakeholders, of the interplay between teaching and learning methodology and space through the identification and celebration of great examples of educational spaces where innovative architectural ideas successfully support an educational philosophy.
These awards reflect the philosophy of our organisation, which is to improve the places where children learn. The projects being recognised will best demonstrate the effectiveness of comprehensive planning, design and construction as it relates to improved student learning.
The awards program is open to registered Learning Environments members, including planners, school principals, bursars, architects, builders and other specialists whose educational facilities projects demonstrate that through effectiveness in planning, design, construction and occupation, highly successful educational outcomes can be achieved.
These awards are an opportunity to celebrate, recognise and reward outstanding projects that will improve learning within NSW.
Awards will be presented in December 2016 in the following 7 Categories:
1. New Facility Construction – Entire Facility
2. New Facility Construction – Individual Facility
3. Renovation / Modernisation – Over $2 million
4. Renovation / Modernisation – Under $2 million
5. Educational Initiative or a Design Solution for an Innovative Program
6. Outdoor Learning Area – Landscaping
7. Innovative Educational use of an Existing Facility
Award winners will have their entry fee paid to the next Learning Environments Regional Awards.
(noting that Category 7 is not currently part of the Regional Awards)
Project types can include any educational facility from Early years through to Tertiary.
The project(s) being recognised will best demonstrate the comprehensive effectiveness of planning, design and construction as outlined in the criteria section of the attached Entry Requirements.
Entry will be via online form only. We will provide a link and instructions to all registrants at the end of the registration period.
The fee for each project entered will be $270 + GST.
Projects withdrawn between registration and submission closing will receive a 50% refund only. No refund will be available after the submission closing date.
Registrations close at midnight on the 21st October 2016, and online submissions will close on 18th November 2016.
You can enter up to five projects per online registration, however there is no limit on the number of entries a member can make.

The Entry Requirements will guide you through the process of entering the awards. The submissions are required to be submitted online via Awardforce.
